Flaky and 21

No, that's not my assessment of the average college coed.

Flaky was the weather yesterday -- as in I saw the first snowflakes of the season yesterday. No, there weren't many and no there wasn't any snowy residue left on the ground. There were just a few floating through the air, off and on, throughout the afternoon.

21 was the temperature (fahrenheit not celsius) reported by the local weathercaster on TV this morning when I tuned in while getting ready for work.

So, where the heck is that global warming thing I've been hearing about? Snowflakes and temperatures in the 20s in November?!? C'mon people. I've still got football games to attend. Not to mention N doesn't have the leaves all raked yet (although he's doing a fine job and earning $2 a bag for his efforts).

A transcript of the sermon I gave in church yesterday. Yes, yesterday was my preaching debut. It very well may have been both my first and last. Then again, who knows?

I, for one, HATE winter. So I'm with you on that forecast.

And I'll be back to check out your sermon!

We got actual flurries yesterday. But, since the temp was in the upper 30s, I was actually able to get out on my bike for 20 miles or so, before my toes froze.

Didn't check the temp this AM, but there was a thin layer of the white stuff sitting on top of the as-yet-unraked leaves (but not the sidewalks or the grass).

N gets $2/bag for raking leaves? Sheesh, at our place, he'd be gettin' on the order of $60-80 for the yard. . .

And listen, Truey, you'll have to speak up just a bit; my Bronco buddies are still partying pretty loudly over the weekend's football. . .

And my WordVer is 'arrapsta'. . . So very NOT me. . .

It's cold - just cold. Last week we have our Indian Summer... today, I saw more flakes but they were very brief and fleeting.

Brrrrrr.

It snowed here just a little two days ago, but now it's back in the high 40's. I think it's going to be a mild winter here, which is just fine with me...

You want global warming? I live in a temperate climate known for at-least-cold-enough winters. At the start of the month, we were getting plenty of sunshine and days of at least 60 degrees for the high temp. It's cooling off now, but we don't usually have weather that good past early October, and sometimes not even that late into the fall. There's no doubt in my mind that the colder seasons are getting warmer than they've been before around here.

Well, you'll all be happy to know I'm finally back to responding to comments, starting with this one. There's no way I could ever go back and catch up on all the others I've missed.

Cocotte - Welcome! Nice to find another winter hater in the crowd. Sometimes I think I'm the only one.

Des - N gets $2 a bag -- $1 of that is for his college fund and the other $1 is for him to spend or save at his discretion. And all told, he'll probably make something less than $20 for our lawn.

C-Marie - Yes, very cold. Break out the hot chocolate!

Fuse - I'm all for mild winters.

Don - No, I don't want global warming. I was just being my usual wiseass self.
